From Health Enthusiast to Health Coach

Ever since I was young, I’ve been active, from swimming (growing up at the Jersey Shore made that a necessity), to dance, soccer, track and field and more. I loved sports as a child, and as I got older, I turned to gym sessions on the elliptical and treadmill, before finding yoga and pilates. Today, my workout routine consists primarily of pilates, strength training, daily walks, and occasional cycling rides.

But I wouldn’t say that I truly found a passion for prioritizing my health and wellbeing until several years ago. It started gradually, joining my sister virtually for pilates classes as we neared her wedding (shoutout to The Sculpt Society), and then transitioned to my diet and eating habits. I tried cutting gluten, dairy, alcohol, and processed foods out of my diet for a month-long cleanse, and with some exceptions (because I’m human), haven’t looked back.

I began to dig further into why I felt so great when eating whole, unprocessed foods, from the impact of gluten on inflammation, to how to eat seasonally and in tune with my cycle. In short, I was hooked. Fast forward a few years, and I received my health coaching certification from mindbodygreen, as I wanted to turn this passion into not only a career, but a way to help others feel good as a result of their lifestyle habits.

As a new mom, I’m reentering my health and fitness journey myself in a new and exciting way as I navigate postpartum and not bouncing back, but finding a new version of what health and wellbeing means. I’m not as diligent with my morning routine, but I still find ways to incorporate movement, meditation and intention into each day, while of course enjoying motherhood!

What I’ve learned, and what works for me, is to focus on the small steps, and leaning into what feels good. It truly is about the journey and not the destination. For those looking to find small and manageable ways to live mindfully and incorporate health-oriented habits, you’ve come to the right place.
